Commissions

So, I am currently offering Commissions, please read the rules below so there’s no confusion. I’m going to keep it brief, and if you have any questions at all just send me an ask or an e-mail at Amber.M.Whitney@gmail.com and I’ll be glad to chat with you about it.

Commissions are for paintings only. Either in gouache or watercolor or a mix of both, but they are physical things. I’m not up for doing digital work, so please don’t ask. 

Yes, you do receive the physical painting. I will ask that you pay shipping costs though, but for a flat mailer it will be a few dollars usually.

I have two styles that I’m interested in exploring right now, primarily my ‘illustration’ style or my ‘realistic’ style. Up to you as far as the commission goes. If you haven’t got a preference that’s fine too.

Price: There are a lot of things that will influence the price, but please be aware that these paintings take days of dedicated time so they’re not going to be as cheap as a sketch or something done quickly. If I can sell prints of a work, then I don’t mind lowering the cost a bit. Other things such as characters, settings, and how complicated your idea is will change the price.

Watercolor / Gouache portrait of a character (shoulders up) basic color background : $50 

Watercolor / Gouache Fully Body Character Study (Basic/fun pose with either a simple background or color background) : $75-100

Watercolor / Gouache Pair of Characters (Simple composition, sitting in chairs or hanging out, simple background or color background) : $100-150

Watercolor / Gouache Illustration - This would be a large painting like my others, max size is 13” x 16”, depicting a complex series of events or including symbolism. It can be from a fanfiction or a character’s history and items you would like included, or you can present me with a backstory and I can interpret it artistically and come up with my own symbology. If you don’t have anything specific in mind that’s fine, I’m more than willing to work with you on it. : $200-300

Payment : Like many artists I ask for half upfront half upon completion. Once a painting is complete I’ll take a picture of it and after the final payment is sent I’ll ship it off to you. I prefer to receive payments via paypal but I’m up for snail mail too.

Please note that by commissioning me I retain full copyright of my art. These commissions are for fun and not for commercial use, book illustrations or logos etc. Commissioning me for professional work is entirely separate from this, if you have a commercial project in mind I’m open to hearing it.
